Piyut literature, a branch of religious literature, develops both in form and content during this period. The Piyut genre can be conditionally divided into the following periods: the period of Eastern Piyut (5th-12th centuries) and the period of Spanish Piyut and the period of Ashkenazi Piyut. The secular literature of the Jews flourished precisely under the influence of Arabic literature. By doing so, they wanted to prove that the Hebrew language was suitable not only for religious topics, but also for reflecting topics specific to various areas of life. He systematized the grammar of the Hebrew language and compiled a dictionary of the Hebrew language. During this period, the Hebrew language had become so perfect that even in the following centuries, although it was not used as a daily spoken language; it was not forgotten by the Jewish people.
