ABOUT US

 The first journal dedicated to oriental studies in Azerbaijan was published in the 1922 under the name “Azerbaijan State University Oriental Faculty Bulletin” under the editorship of Professor Bekir Chobanzadeh and A.Bagriya. Only 4 issues of the journal were published.
The journal, which began to be republished under the name “Oriental Studies” in the 1970s, began to be published twice a year.
After a long period, in 2021, the journal resumed its publication under the name “Journal of Oriental Studies of Baku State University” under the editorship of academician Rafael Huseynov. The first issue of the journal was dedicated to the great Azerbaijani poet in connection with the declaration of the “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 5, 2021.

Peer review process

All materials are reviewed to the highest standards to ensure they are original, correct and meaningful. The average time from submission to publication is 3 months.

Publishing frequency

Each series of journal publishes one volume a year. Typically, a volume consists of four issues. Appears: March, June, October and December. Sometimes special issues are also published. Articles are published immediately after their acceptance.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that free access to research contributes to a wider global exchange of knowledge.

The journals accept article submissions online or by e-mail.

The journals publish papers only in English.
