Abstract
In recent years, a notable paradigm shift has taken place in the field of journalism: the transition from traditional, problem-focused news production-centred on crises, conflicts, and failures-towards more constructive, solutions-oriented reporting. Unlike classical approaches, solutions journalism highlights practical responses, innovative methods, and emerging initiatives that address social, political, environmental, and
economic challenges.
This article examines the intersection of two critical trends: the rise of solutions
journalism and the impact of digital technologies on the media landscape. It analyses
how technological tools enhance the core principles of solutions journalism evidencebased storytelling, transparency, and the demonstration of real-world applications and
proposes a technologically and socially updated model of contemporary journalism.
To assess the influence of digital media on news consumption, an online survey
involving 250 participants was conducted. This suggests that public interest in solutions-oriented journalism is growing in parallel with the expansion of digital media. By
integrating survey results with theoretical perspectives, this study contributes new insights to ongoing academic discussions about the future of journalism in the digital age.
The article argues that the synthesis of solutions journalism and modern technologies
offers significant opportunities to strengthen media credibility, enhance civic engagement, and support more resilient democratic structures. Ultimately, it emphasizes that
for journalism to maintain its relevance and impact in today’s information environment,
it must be both solutions-focused and technologically adaptive.
