Abstract
This article examines the strategic role of media in the contemporary international system and analyzes the underlying causes of biased information policies in
global media from a political-analytical perspective. In the modern era, information functions not only as a means of communication but also as an instrument of power,
influence, and manipulation. The study identifies geopolitical interests, economic dependencies, media ownership concentration, cultural stereotypes, and information
warfare as the main determinants shaping biased media narratives. It explores how
media discourse influences international conflicts, public opinion formation, and political decision-making processes. Particular attention is paid to biased representations of
Azerbaijan in international media as a case study illustrating selective and unbalanced
information practices. The article concludes that establishing a balanced and objective
global information environment is a strategic necessity for international security, sustainable peace, and a fair global order.
