The article considers nazire to “Haft Peykar” by Nizami, created in the Middle Ages in Persian literature in India. It is noted that Nizami’s “Khamseh” was very popular in India and Indian authors have repeatedly turned to Nizami’s plots and images. Their particular interest was aroused by the poem “Haft Peykar, since the method of frame composition underlying it has long been familiar to Indian readers. The article analyzes five imitations to “Haft Peykar”: “Hasht Behesht” by Amir Khusrau, “Haft Dilbar” by Ahmad Dehdar, “Haft Gumbad-i Bahram” by Ruh al-Amin Shahristani, “Haft Akhtar” by Fani Kashmiri and “Haft Jauhar” by Ismail-khan Abjadi, written during the XIV–XVIII centuries.
