Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov was a prominent representative of Azerbaijani enlightenment, a scholar with encyclopedic knowledge, a poet, and a translator. Alongside his works in various fields of science, his literary heritage, created under the pseudonym “Qudsi,” holds significant importance. His works “Tahzibi-Akhlag” and “Nasihatlar” are aimed at the moral education of the younger generation. The new edition of “Tahzibi-Akhlag” has been prepared on the basis of four manuscripts and is presented to the Azerbaijani reader in its complete form for the first time. The research conducted by Hediya Zahra Ahmadi is an important contribution to the study of Bakikhanov’s legacy. The book includes the translation of the work, commentaries, poetic excerpts, religious sources, and proverbs used in the text. In addition, Bakikhanov’s work “Miratu-l-Jamal” has also been thoroughly studied and published for the first time. It is noted that this work is a nazira (literary imitation) of Shabustari’s “Gulshan-i Raz.” Both publications serve as valuable sources for researchers and contribute to a deeper understanding of Bakikhanov’s rich heritage.
