The editors of the Baku State University Journal of Life Sciences & Biology conduct a rigorous peer review process, along with rigorous ethical policies and standards, to ensure that high-quality scientific papers are included in the field of scientific publications. Baku State University Journal of Life Sciences & Biology editors take publishing ethics issues very seriously and are trained to act in such cases with a zero-tolerance policy.
Authors wishing to publish their articles on the Baku State University Journal of Life Sciences & Biology must comply with the following:
• Authors should accurately represent the results of their research and include an objective discussion of the significance of their findings.
• The data and methods used in the study should be presented in sufficient detail as much as possible in the document so that other researchers can reproduce the work.
• Raw data should preferably be publicly shared by authors prior to submission of their manuscript. Authors should at least have raw data readily available for submission to reviewers and journal editors, if required. Authors should ensure that appropriate measures are taken so that the raw data is retained in its entirety for a reasonable period after publication.
• Simultaneous submission of manuscripts to several journals is not allowed.
• Re-posting content that is not new is not allowed (e.g., English translation of an article already published in another language will not be accepted).
• If authors discover errors and inaccuracies after publication of their article, they should be immediately reported to the editors of this journal so that appropriate action can be taken.
• Your manuscript should not contain any result that has already been published. If you have included drawings or images already published, please obtain the necessary permission from the copyright holder to publish. For more information, see the Rights and Permissions page.
• Plagiarism, data fabrication and image manipulation are not permitted.
o Plagiarism is not allowed in Baku State University Journal of Life Sciences & Biology content.
Plagiarism involves copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source, even from your own publications, without any indication of the original source.
Reusing text copied from another source must be quoted and the original source must be quoted. If the study design, structure, or language of the manuscript was inspired by previous work, those work should be explicitly indicated.
If plagiarism is found during the peer review process, the manuscript may be rejected. If plagiarism is found after posting, we may post a fix or withdraw the article.
o It is prohibited to manipulate or correct the image files in any way that could lead to an incorrect interpretation of the information provided by the original image.
Irregular manipulations include: 1) introducing, improving, moving, or removing elements from the original image; 2) grouping of images, which obviously should be presented separately (for example, from different parts of the same gel or from different gels); or 3) altering the contrast, brightness, or color balance to mask, eliminate, or improve any information.
If irregular image manipulations are identified and confirmed during the peer review process, we may reject the manuscript. If irregular image manipulation is identified and confirmed after publication, we may correct or revoke the article.
Our internal editors will investigate any allegations of posting misconduct and may contact authors or sponsors as needed. If evidence of misconduct is found, appropriate action will be taken to correct or refuse publication. Authors are expected to follow the best publishing ethics when posting to the Baku State University Journal of Life Sciences & Biology.
